USCCA Congratulates Georgia Governor for Signing Constitutional Carry Bill

Encourages All Law-Abiding Georgian Gun Owners to Prioritize Firearm Safety and Training to Protect Themselves and Their Loved Ones at All Times

West Bend, WI – The U.S. Concealed Carry Association (USCCA), which has over 625,000 members nationwide including over 17,000 in Georgia alone, today commended Georgia Governor Brian Kemp for signing SB 319 – a “constitutional carry” bill – into law, making Georgia the 25th state to allow responsibly-armed Americans to carry concealed handguns without a permit. The legislation would still require federal background checks on gun sales in Georgia through licensed gun dealers but would eliminate the need for government permission to carry that firearm and protect themselves at all times.

“Momentum is building across the nation towards permitless carry and we applaud Governor Brian Kemp for taking this important step to recognize Georgians’ natural born right to self-defense,” said U.S. Concealed Carry Association President and Founder Tim Schmidt. “The USCCA believes all law-abiding Americans should be able to own a firearm to protect themselves and their loved ones without permission from the government. While more states pass ‘constitutional carry’ policies, we will remain dedicated to educating Americans on the importance of firearms training and their Constitutional right to be their family’s first line of defense.”

The USCCA has seen increased demand for firearm safety and training courses as millions of new gun owners across the country are taking the responsibility of their safety into their own hands. In the last year alone, nearly 3,000 new USCCA instructors have joined the ranks of 10,000 instructors across the country including many in Georgia.
